StillFaxing.com is run by Charles H. Becker (“we” or “us”). This page explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and who else sees it. If something here is unclear, email contact@stillfaxing.com.
What we collect
When you borrow a number. Your email address, your IP address and your browser’s user agent. We use these to email you a confirmation link, then the link to your number, and to keep one person from taking every free number.
Faxes you receive. The fax itself, plus details like the sending number, the time it arrived and the page count.
Faxes you send. The document you upload, the names and numbers you enter, the subject line, your IP address and your browser’s user agent. Every fax you send starts with a cover page that shows your name, the fax number you’re sending from, your IP address and a record ID, so the person you’re faxing knows who sent it.
Payments. If you pay to keep a number longer, Stripe handles your card. We never see or store your card number. We keep a record of the payment, including the amount, its status and the IP address and user agent it came from.
Reports and blocks. If you report a fax or ask us to block your own fax number, we keep your email address, your fax number, the record ID, any note you write, your IP address and your browser’s user agent.
Activity records. We log things like when a number’s page is viewed, when a fax is downloaded and when a request is refused, along with the IP address and user agent involved. This helps us look into abuse and answer questions about what happened.
We don’t ask for your name unless you send a fax, and you don’t need an account or password.
How your faxes stay private
There’s no login. Your number’s page and each email we send when a fax arrives use a long, random link, and anyone with the link can open it. Treat these links like passwords and don’t forward the emails.
Faxes you receive are encrypted shortly after they arrive, using a key tied to your links. We don’t keep a copy of your links, so a stored fax can’t be opened without one, even with our own admin tools.
Documents you send are kept only until they’re sent. They aren’t encrypted while they wait, and they’re deleted as soon as the fax finishes sending, fails or is cancelled.
Numbers are recycled
Every StillFaxing.com number is reused. When your time with a number ends, someone else will borrow it later. Apart from a short grace period, any fax sent to that number after your time is up goes to whoever has it then, or to no one at all, and the sender has no way of knowing which.
We take commercially reasonable steps to let numbers sit unused for a while between borrowers, but we can’t stop a fax meant for you from reaching the next borrower. If an office keeps your number on file, tell them when you’re done with it, and don’t use a StillFaxing.com number for anything you’ll need to receive after your time ends.
How we use your information
- To give you a number, deliver your faxes and send the faxes you ask us to send
- To email you links and notices about your number or your report
- To process payments and refunds
- To stop spam, fraud and abuse, including blocking VPNs, proxies, hosting providers, throwaway email addresses and faxes to numbers whose owners have asked not to receive them
- To answer reports and support emails
- To keep the site running and fix problems
We don’t sell your email, your faxes or your numbers to anyone.
How long we keep it
- Received faxes are deleted 7 days after they arrive.
- Documents you send are deleted as soon as the fax finishes sending, fails or is cancelled.
- Email confirmation links expire after 30 minutes and are deleted a day later.
- Reports and blocks are kept indefinitely, so a blocked number stays blocked and we have a record of past problems.
- Everything else, like borrowing records, fax details (but not the faxes themselves), payment records and activity logs, is kept for no more than 2 years after your time with the number ends. Activity that isn’t tied to a number, like a refused request, is deleted 2 years after it happens. We keep it that long so we can handle disputes, refunds and abuse reports.
Who else sees it
We share only what each of these needs to do its part.
- Stripe processes payments. Its payment form loads directly from Stripe, which may use its own cookies to prevent fraud.
- SMTP2GO delivers the emails we send you. Emails contain links, never the faxes themselves.
- Cloudflare sits in front of the site to keep it fast and protected, and its Turnstile check helps us tell people and bots apart. All traffic to the site, including fax downloads, passes through Cloudflare.
- proxycheck.io looks at your IP address to spot VPNs and proxies.
- Google Fonts serves the site’s fonts, which means your browser asks Google for them.
- Google AdSense shows ads on some pages. See the next section.
- A buyer. If StillFaxing.com is sold, the information we hold goes to the new owner, and this policy keeps applying to it.
- The person you fax sees what’s on your cover page, and we may share those same details with anyone who reports one of your faxes.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect people from fraud or harm.
Ads and cookies
We don’t run our own tracking cookies or analytics. Cloudflare and Stripe use cookies to keep the site secure and prevent fraud, and the only cookie we set ourselves remembers your ad choice below. Ads from Google AdSense pay for our free numbers. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to show ads and measure how they perform, based on your visits to this and other sites.
The first time you visit, you’ll be asked whether you agree to personalized ads, and you can change your answer at any time from your privacy choices, also linked at the bottom of every page. If your state gives you the right to opt out of targeted advertising, you can use that same link, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as that opt-out. You can also turn off personalized ads at adssettings.google.com, and learn more about how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we have about you. Email contact@stillfaxing.com from the email address you gave us, and tell us which number or record ID it’s about. We’ll reply within 30 days. We may need to keep some records, like payments or the details of a block, when the law requires it or when deleting them would let abuse through.
If you don’t want faxes from StillFaxing.com numbers, use the Report a Fax page to block your own fax number.
Children
You must be 18 or the age of majority where you live, whichever is higher, to use StillFaxing.com. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this page, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we handle information we already have, we’ll say so on the site, and by email where we can, before it takes effect.
